sometimes, it's the small things that matter.

certain things may appear negligible, yet in retrospect i realise that these are the things that incur repercussions and impact lasting changes.

so weird.

things like a smile; a small gesture of good-natured kindness which can turn a gloomy day cheery and new. things like waiting with your lonely friend for his bus to come, in the process allowing your own bus to past by you.

we don't notice it half the time, but they do make mini miracles of sorts. thanks to our human calculative tendency to look after number one, we often think doing all these reciprocates us in no apparent way. hence prevents us from giving freely of ourselves.

we should never let our selfish thoughts cloud our minds and blur our moral judgement. because the school of thought that tells us we get nothing in return is all but false. that's what i think.

in giving we do receive, and so much more the recompense. so much that it overflows and encourages us to give even more. that's God's grace.

small things.

we don't have to do great works, miracles, etc. but all that is done in love, with love, will never fail to make this world a better one.
